What is included, and what is not
Included in every site: mobile-first design in your brand, a contact form and click-to-call tested before handover, basic on-page SEO, hosting on our servers, an admin panel so you can edit text and images yourself, and professional email in your name.
Not included: your domain (about $12 to $15 a year, registered in your name), writing all of your text from scratch (we shape your notes), full online stores (see the Shopify store cost guide), and ongoing edits after handover, which the care plan covers.
What it costs to keep the site running
- Domain: about $12 to $15 a year, paid to the registrar, in your name.
- Hosting: $0. It is on our servers and included in the build price.
- Care plan (optional): $50 a month for updates, daily backups, security hardening and malware scanning, uptime monitoring, unlimited small edits and a monthly on-page SEO check. $75 adds a new page or post each month; $100 adds two posts, rank tracking and technical SEO fixes.
- Changes without a care plan: quoted per job, or made with us in a $10 hourly session.

The care plan is the right choice when you change the site often or want someone else responsible for backups and security. If the site is a brochure that changes twice a year, skip it and pay for edits when you need them.
When to pay for the SEO-friendly version instead
The website design gig is a professional site at the lowest price, with basic on-page SEO. The SEO-friendly website starts with keyword research, plans one purpose per page, adds schema, sitemap, Search Console and Bing setup, and on the higher tiers writes blog posts and full page copy. Pay the extra when search is how you expect customers to find you; keep the standard site when your traffic comes from referrals, Google Business Profile or ads and the site only has to convert it.

- Search planning. Keyword research, schema and search-tool setup are the difference between the standard and SEO-friendly gigs.

Pricing traps to watch for
- Cheap build, expensive hosting. A $500 site with $100 a month "hosting and maintenance" costs $4,100 over three years. Ask for the total.
- Domain registered in the designer’s name. If you leave, you lose it. Ours is in yours.
